Mdundo Uganda Awards 2018: The Complete List of Winners

The second edition of the Mdundo Awards Uganda went down yesterday at the Comedy Store Uganda Show. Hit maker Geosteady walked away with two awards, while Radio and Weasel, Sheebah and Navio each bagged an award.

The award ceremony was held at the Comedy Store Uganda hosted by Alex Muhangi on the 28th June 2018. It was a star studded evening with great performances by artists and comedians including Vinka and YKee Benda. Geosteady was the biggest winner of the day with his two awards: Most Downloaded Male Single for his hit Owooma and the Most Downloaded Artist overall.

“You raised an incredible man, mum. He’s such an inspiration and an amazing role model Thanks @mdundomusicUg 1. Best male Artist on Mdundo 2. Most downloaded song (Owooma) on Mdundo. Good music lasts.” an elated Geosteady said.

Navio, who was the first artist ever to join Mdundo also scooped the Mdundo Hip Hop Artist of the Year award while Sheebah bagged the Most Downloaded Female Single award for her song The Way.

The award winning duo, Radio and Weasel (RIP Radio) won the Most Downloaded Afro Pop Artist of the Year which was received by Weasel Manizo.

Mdundo also awarded The Comedy Store Uganda as being the most supportive partner and the award was received by the show host Alex Muhangi and comedian Salvado.

The winners are selected based on the number of downloads on the Mdundo platform and this year’s awards had a total of 22 nominees in the 5 categories.
